What if you could escape the stress of life,
relax in a sacred and peaceful setting,
nourish your body, replenish your spirit, experience true connections with those
who understand, AND
transform your relationship with food?

Hear Tricia and Roy discuss details of the retreat on this Retreat Preview Call:

Does this describe you...

  • You want to lose weight.
  • You keep saying you’re going to lose weight.
  • But you’re not losing weight.

So what’s stopping you?

  • It’s not lack of knowledge about what to eat.
  • It’s not lack of knowledge about the importance of exercise.
  • It’s not lack of desire to be thin.

So what is it?

problem
Weight loss doesn’t happen when you focus on it. You see, weight and food are not your problem. Lack of exercise isn’t your problem either. Overweight comes from overeating. But overeating doesn’t just happen (I know, you think you just like food too much…but that’s not the whole story!). Overeating happens when we have too much on our plate (pardon the pun) and we can’t cope with the resources within us, alone. We reach for food for extra support, for solace, for security and for love. Instead of trying to lose weight, why not address why you’re eating in the first place? Why not learn a new lifestyle that doesn’t send you to the kitchen every time you’re stressed?

Solution: It’s Time to Look Beyond
Food and Weight -

And Address the Underlying Cause

problem
No matter how good our intentions, we always end up in the kitchen looking for food to comfort us. And it doesn’t matter what the emotions are; mad, sad, afraid, overwhelmed, excited, joyful, sensual, depressed, resentful, jealous, betrayed, anxious, etc. As emotional eaters, we have trouble negotiating the torrent of emotions we routinely experience. They just come too soon, too fast and too erratically to deal with them without turning to food. Yet the food only comforts us temporarily. Wouldn’t it be nice to become acquainted with the range of emotions we usually stuff down with food, so that then next time they come (and they WILL come, rest assured!) you are prepared and have healthier tools to deal with them?

Solution: Make Peace with Your Emotions…
and with Food

problem
In the hustle and bustle of life, we always have good intentions, but it’s hard to put it into practical application, isn’t it? You know you should exercise. You know you should lower your carbs. You plan on having a home cooked meal but then you’re called to do one last minute project at work and you don’t get home until late…when all you want is something quick and easy. You want to begin a meditation practice, but your kids are used to having dinner at 5:30 and there isn’t time for yourself at home. You want to start your diet but your husband brings home cookies from a work party. It’s just hard to get started on a new pattern when everyone around you is used to you being a certain way.

Solution: Get Supported in a New Way of Living
So You Can Begin a New Way of Eating.

problem
Let’s face it: when we are always going on a diet, and announcing it to the world - and then blowing it or putting the weight on minutes after reaching our goal, people stop believing us. We lose credibility. But what’s worse is that we no longer believer ourselves. There is that little voice of negativity that says” “Who are you kidding?!” “Might as well have that cookie; after all, you’re going to blow it in a few days anyway…just like you always do.” “You’ve never been skinny, give it up; why waste your time?”

We are so used to giving in to that negativity that our positive selves, those faint voices that want so much to cheer us on and see us as successful, healthy and happy never get nurtured. We never get off the ground because the negativity always gets the upper hand.

Solution: Join the Chorus of Positive Self-Care

problem
Most of us have been driven to food on account of emptiness in our hearts. We feel lonely, rejected, unloved and “unloveable”. So we turn to food, which seems to accept us no matter what. But instead of being a true friend, food turns on us and makes us feel even worse. In fact, food is only making you feel more isolated, more misunderstood, more afraid and more “unloveable”.

Yet when we diet or try to stay away from our favorite foods, we feel lost and alone. We miss the support and security we got from food…even though it wasn’t real in the first place.

In order to lose weight and keep it off, we need to replace the emotional support food seemed to provide.

So it’s time to find a new support system…one that is healthy, makes you feel good about yourself, and one that is accessible at any time, day or night.

When you learn to be your own best advocate, to put taking care of yourself first, you tap into a resource of power and strength that food could never match. When you have others who understand you and care about helping you feel whole, you no longer feel alone and afraid. And as you abandon your isolation and seek healthy connection and proper self-care, Spirit meets you in that place of clear intention and declaration that you are worthy of good treatment and makes your way easy and accessible.

Annie's retreat experience:

Hear from past retreatees:

What was most meaningful was the closeness and openness with all the ladies that were here. I am leaving with a new family. I also I am going home almost symptom free. I also learned that we can eat healthy good food and feel great. I can live without sugar and all those other bad things and not just survive but live and be happy. I have never had so much love and compassion. I will take it with me for always. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
~G.L., Oregon City, OR

I really loved the safe and supportive environment that made me feel very comfortable sharing the feelings that I usually stuff down with food. Tricia’s warm and loving presence and her openness made it easy for me to be vulnerable with others and honest with myself. Tricia was also very considerate of our feelings and flexible with the schedule  depending on our needs, which made the experience very nurturing and stress-free. Overall, it is a huge step on the journey of recovery; anyone would get more out of one week at the HYH Retreat than in any other program or type of treatment that I know of (I’ve been to many of them!).
~L. B., Akron, OH

The HYH Retreat was the beginning of my journey towards the real ME, God, freedom and peace. Physically, I don’t have any cravings; I enjoy and can handle being hungry, and I’ve lost weight while eating good, healthy food and good portions of it. I feel my feelings and I am able to express them and show more of who I am. The unconditional love and support have been amazing.
~H. D., Norway

Imagine:

  • Being in the company of people who truly understand you and your past struggles with food and weight

  • Feeling enlivened by the positive energy of people who are eager to make changes and chart a new course for themselves  and their lives

  • Being challenged to explore parts of yourself that you have hidden away under mounds of food and impossible, self-defeating “to-do” lists

  • Supporting each other in new habits of self-care: enjoying healthy meals and practicing daily disciplines of writing, meditation, prayer, spiritual reading, and gentle exercise

  • Having unscheduled time to rest, read, walk on the beach, and simply listen to the desires of your heart

  • Sharing with others at a heart-to-heart level so that you break out of your isolation and self-consciousness and begin to feel connected and alive

  • Feeling and being loved and accepted unconditionally

  • Being empowered to let go of destructive habits that no longer serve you

A Retreat Designed with YOU in Mind!

photo

The amazing “Heal Your Hunger Retreat” is a way for you to slow down long enough for you to look beyond the symptom of food and weight and address the underlying causes of your overeating. The retreat will be held from May 27th - June 3rd. This seven day retreat is specifically designed to give you the safety, peace, insight and tools you need to enjoy a realistic, non-diet, self-caring lifestyle that you can take home and continue to enjoy.

No one can take the journey from their head to their heart alone. That is why Heal Your Hunger (formerly Be Totally Free) has offered intensive mentorship for years. People who could never lose weight nor address their deeper pain alone have found a way to do this…with the safety, love and experience offered by Tricia Greaves and guest presenter Roy Nelson.  The result has been a new relationship with food, freedom from fear and buried pain, and new tools for living that enable so many to live with emotional balance and clarity.

We realize we can’t promise that you will be completely freed from your eating troubles in 7 days. After all, it’s a journey, not a sprint, and Roy’s intensive mentorship program takes months, if not years, of study and mentoring. But because so many people aren’t in a position to take advantage of such amazing mentoring, and most aren’t ready for such intensity anyway, we wanted to offer you a foundation of care, inspiration and education in a shorter span of time. Anything less than 7 days wouldn’t be enough for important healing and transformation…anything more is a difficult commitment for people to make.

The work Tricia brings to the Heal Your Hunger Retreat will help you address the underlying causes of your emotional eating and weight issues. She will guide you in adopting an entire self-care plan that helps you establish emotional balance and heal physical, emotional and mental obstacles to weight loss.

Having taken this journey themselves, Tricia and Roy will teach you how to transform your life and habits…which is the precursor to effortless weight loss.

Heal Your Hunger Retreat:

Meet Juliet, Your Organic Chef

photo

You’re going to love Juliet, the chef who will be preparing our yummy food for the week. She is amazing!! She actually went to school to be a chef after her grandfather passed from complications from diabetes.

Juliet “gets it”; she understands how important it is to eat delicious, healthy meals without sacrificing taste and satisfaction. She makes everything home-made in the kitchen; no store-bought sauces, nothing artificial or chemical, etc. And she buys her produce and fruits from the local Farmer’s markets here in Los Angeles! (A woman after my own heart!)

Hear Juliet tell why her food is so delicious and healing:

The Heal Your Hunger Retreat includes 21 delicious and nutritious meals! Think about it…no worrying about:

  • Grocery shopping

  • Cooking

  • Cleaning

  • Counting calories
photo

You will be served great food that is probably healthier than you’ve had time to make in a long time! You will be able to get into a new groove with food where eating healthy is enjoyable and easy. You won’t have to choose between the junk food and the good stuff, you’ll be served great meals that you’ll feel happy about eating. No guilt or jaunts to the gym for compensation. Just really great meals that you enjoy so that your time can be spent on YOU and your healing.

When we call this retreat the time for you to “transform your relationship with food”, we really mean it!

Location, Location, Location!

photo

The HYH Retreat is held at a retreat center located in the beautiful Pacific Palisades, a quaint yet bustling town that sits on the bluffs of the Santa Monica Beach and Pacific Ocean, just south of Malibu. In fact the beach is an easy walk only ¾ of a mile away!

Enjoy the fresh ocean breezes, warm sunshine and clear night skies in this idyllic setting. The nice thing about being in a retreat setting that isn’t isolated entirely from “the world” is that when you return to your home you won’t have such a drastic transition to make. You won’t be disoriented and lost, but able to assimilate back into your life without feeling like a misfit! You will be able to “go apart” as part of your inner journey of healing and peacefulness, but still be a “part of” the flow of life happening all around you.

On the grounds of the retreat center is a unique and peaceful chapel where one can enjoy solitude, sanctity and quiet contemplation.

And the actual retreat house is a 3 story Craftsman-style home that has quite a lot of history (it was moved to PP from downtown LA in the early 1900’s!). It is super comfortable, cozy, spacious and peaceful, with plenty of nooks and resting places where you can relax, reflect and recharge. Here are some pictures:

Meet Tricia Greaves:
Your Retreat Guide

photo

tricia greaves
Tricia Greaves 1979

Tricia grew up as a “fat girl” and wanted desperately to live in a thin body. Yet everything she tried failed to help her get and stay thin. She always returned to food to help her cope with life’s stress. Until she asked Roy Nelson to mentor her. Tricia met Roy 21 years ago when she was seeking help for her own issues with food, self-esteem and addiction.

Roy showed Tricia a new way of life that changed everything for her. By making simple (but not easy) changes in her life, she began to grow in self-esteem, self-care and self-love. As a result of Roy’s mentorship, Tricia has been able to live in a thin body for 20 years. Having lost 50 pounds and addressing the underlying causes of her emotional eating, Tricia founded Heal Your Hunger to help women around the world learn how they can heal their persistent hunger and the vicious cycle of emotional eating.

Tricia, known as the "Emotional Eating Expert", is a certified coach, an internationally known speaker on the topic of emotional eating and healthy weight loss. She is also the contributing author of 101 Great Ways to Improve Your Health and the popular, Thank God I book series in which she writes a chapter called "Thank God I Was Fat". Tricia has been featured on numerous TV and radio shows including CBS 2, KTLA, and Discovery Health.

Tricia has asked her mentor, Roy Nelson, to share his own story and healing presence with the retreat attendees. So as a special RETREAT BONUS, you will get to learn from Roy and even have an opportunity to share personally with him during the retreat.

A word from Dr. Hyla Cass:

You Deserve a Little Time Away
(In Other Words: Give Yourself - and Your
Family - a Break!)

photoSometimes we need to take time away. We need a real, conscious break from our routine of unhealthy habits in order to form and practice new habits.

Sometimes those closest to us who have watched us struggle need a break, too! They have hung in there, trying to make suggestions and offer encouragement (which isn’t always that encouraging since we know they don’t always understand what we are going through) but they are, quite frankly, just as worn out as we are!

Why not give your family and friends a break from your incessant complaining about your weight or health challenges and seek the comfort and support of those who understand and offer a real solution?

Why not heal the wounds, once and for all, that, keep you in the same negative reaction-mode with your family, your boss and your spouse? Why not take the time to “feel, deal and heal?” Instead of “run, hide and eat”?

How Serious are You About Making
Real Changes in Your Life?

The purpose of the Heal Your Hunger Retreat is to help you set a clear intention for health and self-care. Not just to speak the words, but to follow those words with ACTION. And the process will have already begun the moment you actually register to attend this retreat.

photo

When you register for the Heal Your Hunger Retreat, when you invest in yourself by saying “YES, I’M WORTHY OF GOOD TREATMENT”, energy will shift for you and you will feel it!

If you close your mind to the possibility of such a shift, and reject the notion that you could take the time to have an experience of love and transformation, you keep yourself stuck in the same pattern of negativity and self-sabotage.

Set your intention! Not of a number on the scale, but of putting yourself first and learning a new way of life that will support your weight loss desires.

When the phone is ringing, the kids are whining, the laundry is piling up, the house needs cleaning, the boss wants more of you, and the husband complains that you ignore him at night, it’s time for a break. But not just a break where you return to the same stress and pressure after your return. You need a break that will transform you and that stress into a new way of living.

Hear from past retreatees:

The greatest benefit of this retreat is gaining a sense of hopefulness. My spirit feels lighter. Being in the world, managing my life doesn’t seem as overwhelming. My experience has been restful, meditative; an opportunity to disconnect from the world and think in a supportive, peaceful setting. There were great, healthy and nutritious meals. Meal times also offered a great opportunity to slow down, analyze my food choices and discern what “satisfied” actually felt like. This was an opportunity to reflect and truly discover why my eating is disordered. This was also an opportunity to begin implementing daily practices to support a spiritual connection.
~E.C. Dallas, TX

Working with Tricia gave me the most amazing insight about myself that years and years of therapy couldn’t provide. What I got was priceless and unforgettable. Also, it was fun connecting with the amazing women at the retreat. I have learned a lot about myself. There are many answers to my questions that I have had for so long. I have had spiritual realizations like no other, the food was amazing.
~S.H., San Diego, CA

I fee lighter in every aspect, physically, mentally and spiritually. I see other people and myself from a new perspective. I know now that the food is not the problem. Also, I love Tricia, she is the best. She is wise, compassionate, loving, understanding…really just the best! The food was incredible!

One last thing before you decide…

Before you register for this retreat, let’s be sure we have a “fit”. The information shared at this retreat is truly life-changing. And the experiences you will have are equally powerful. The only way that we can insure that the people attending have the best experience possible, we want to be sure we have the right group of people gathered together for maximum change and healing. This transformative retreat experience is not for everyone, so please note the following information and be sure you feel comfortable with the qualifications….

This retreat is for those who:

  • Recognize that they emotionally eat (know they are emotional eaters)

  • Have tried many other ways to stop emotionally eating…with very little effect

  • Know that their problem is not simply about diet and exercise (that would have worked already if it was)

  • Know that they cannot fight this problem on their own…they need additional support

  • Know that they must address deeper issues – feelings, thought processes, behaviors, etc. – in order to truly heal their relationship with food

  • Are not afraid to look within for guidance and inspiration

  • Are not afraid to accept help and direction from those who have gone before them on this healing journey (are teachable and coachable)

  • Are willing to open up with others who are also on this path, for mutual support and encouragement

If the above describes you, then, by all means, register now and secure your spot for this amazing week of help and inspiration!

If this doesn’t describe you, we thank you for taking the time to review this information. If you want to discuss some of these points to be sure, please feel free to call us at 310-281-8831

Special BONUS!

Tricia has asked her mentor, Roy Nelson, to share his own story and healing presence with the retreat attendees. So as a special RETREAT BONUS, you will get to learn from Roy and even have an opportunity to share personally with him during the retreat.

Meet Roy Nelson:
Your Special Guest Retreat Guide

roy nelson

Roy Nelson has the amazing gift of being able to see inside a person’s heart. He can see the pain, the grief, the sadness, the rage, the shame and the fear. He can also see the beauty, the sweetness, the absolute goodness and the potential for total freedom. Being in the presence of Roy’s unconditional love and unique, vibrant, spontaneous personality makes it possible for a person to access both parts of themselves. It enables a person to see things about themselves they would normally bury with food.  Helping you face, embrace and erase that which blocks you from living a joyful life is what Roy is all about.

roy nelson
Roy Nelson 1975

Roy has, himself, lost 120 lbs. and has been living in a thin body, free from the bondage of food, for over 30 years. His commitment to being totally free is awe-inspiring. Roy wants to share the gifts he has received with others. He wants to help others become unburdened from the issues and pain that block them from living a life free from food addiction.

Roy knows the pain and suffering that comes from not being able to control oneself with food or other addictions. He knows the shame and humiliation of not being able to fit into his XX size shirts any longer! He will never forget feeling like a “freak” because he practically waddled in and out of a room on account of the excess weight he carried.

And Roy knows about the secrets; not only about food, but about so many things…the things we think no one will understand and are afraid to talk about with anyone.

Roy has also experienced debilitating panic attacks and phobias that crippled him and made his life grow smaller and smaller for years.

Roy has experienced immense pain and suffering, and has overcome it all. His commitment to helping others break free is so strong that he knows that he must help others overcome their pain in order for him to remain totally free. And God has given him a gift for doing so.
