Defensiveness, risky behavior and unrealistic expectations: in a relationship, these can all be symptoms of the fear of intimacy. For emotional eaters, childhood trauma and dysfunction not only drove addictive eating, but they also set the stage for issues around intimacy. In this episode, I draw from my own experience, and that of many of my clients, in order to outline the ways that this fear of getting close, and feeling good, can rear its ugly head. I also talk about important actions you can take to heal.
