Ep494: Is It a Sleep Problem or a Going to Bed Problem?

Many emotional eaters struggle with sleep. But sometimes, it’s not about sleep, as much as it’s about going to sleep. We stay up late, eating in front of the TV, or scrolling Facebook and feeling bad about ourselves. We miss out on quality rest, which leaves us tired and more prone to snacking for quick energy the next day. Sound familiar? In this episode, I talk about why we struggle with putting ourselves to bed, and how to get on a much better track.

      • Emotional eaters often stay up late, disrupting sleep and eating rhythms.
      • Staying up late is often a form of pain relief, escape, or self-punishment (PEP formula).
      • Tips for Better Sleep:
        • Establish a bedtime ritual.
        • Limit TV watching and late-night eating.
        • Address hormonal imbalances and overstimulation.
        • Treat going to bed as an act of self-care.
