Ep505: Dealing with the Death of a Loved One

It’s the anniversary of the death of my former husband and mentor, someone who was in my life for 35 years…on a daily basis. In this episode, I discuss what I’ve done to move through the feelings, and the very personal experience of this death. I discuss how we can face the intense feelings of loss, without stuffing them with food. Yes, it’s entirely possible.

        • Discussion about how emotional eating isn’t about food, weight, or diets.
        • Importance of addressing emotions to break free from emotional eating patterns.
        • Reflection on Roy Nelson’s impact as a mentor, husband, and friend.
        • Sharing the unconventional dynamic of their relationship and his lasting influence.
        • The process of grieving and the importance of allowing emotions to surface and be processed.
        • Strategies to handle grief, including crying, writing, praying, and reframing intrusive images.
